combine all our skills, says Stefano, David and Eileens and my own, to create something new and exciting when eating out.
The result is a restaurant that reflects all that is best in Dunne & Crescenzi, Bar Italia and Nonna Valentina, with one added extra: the shopping experience.
So whether you are shopping in Kildare Village, the Dundrum Town Centre or the Arnotts Project you can enjoy the finest Italian food and wine while relaxing in a welcoming, friendly atmosphere.
LOfficina is a work in progress as is life and a very exciting project, Stefano says.
Studied fine art at Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome where she worked 17 years for the UN for the International Fund for Agricoltural Development in the areas of Personnel and Training.
Residing in Dublin since 1995, she has established various business, her background includes a Higher certificate in wines, which accompanies her knowledge of the Italian cuisine customs and culture.
Received a degree in economics from the University of Rome and worked in Africa with NGO's and for the UN where he specialized in International Cooperation and Development.. Here he met his irish wife Eileen.
He resides in Dublin since 1995 where he started to work in the restaurant business and to cook professionally.
The true love for his native italian cuisine come from his grandmother Valentina. He recently opened a restaurant in her homage in Portobello.
Many of the recipes came from Stefanos's art historian uncle, who taught him to cook while he was a student in Rome.
"Italian cuisine, for me, is more than research, it's also a respect for tradition......"
He has also taught Italian cooking at various schools in North and South Dublin.
David was born near St Peters in Rome and spent his summer holidays on his mothers farm in Puglia in the south of Italy. And it was here on the farm nestled in the heel of Italy, that Davids love of Italian food was born. "We had our own vineyards and would
make our own wine, pasta and pomodoro
(tomato sauce)", says David. He remembers accompanying the men out of the house before dawn to pick ripe tomatoes and load them onto a trailer. "We would wash them and put them in this huge pot where they were cooked under giant gas rings." His grandmothers house was full of
tomatoes that were as red as hell and he
would take fresh bread, mash the tomatoes
into it and dress it with nonna's homemade
olive oil.
These early influences stayed with David when he came to work with Eileen and Stefano in Dublin, helping them open and operate a string of highly successful
restaurants. "Our success always depended
first and foremost on the food on reliably
sourced produce."

LOfficina is a quality standards food restaurant and maintains the perfect balance between sophisticated and rustic Italian food. We endeavour to reinterpret original Italian cuisine using quality ingredients in season and as far as possible, local.
